Hospitalisation
Hospitalisation may be required when your pet is particularly poorly. There are many scenarios when hospitalisation may be needed, such as:

When your pet is dehydrated, or if hydration cannot be maintained

If your pet is not eating (anorexic)

Treatment of shock

Monitoring of cardiovascular and respiratory status, e.g.

Heart rate, rhythm and sounds
-
Pulse rate and quality
-
Mucous membrane colour and capillary refill time
-
Blood pressure
-
Blood oxygenation
-
Respiratory rate and effort​
-
Lung sounds​
-
-
When injectable medications are required​
-
This may be the case if your pet will not take or keep down oral medications
